Half-Life 2 RTX: the long-awaited demo arrives tomorrow!
Half-Life 2 RTX has been awaited for months by fans of the Half-Life franchise... initially in the form of a playable demo.
Presented as the showcase for the RTX Remix, Half-Life 2 RTX has taken its time, but Valve's game, magnified by Orbifold Studios, finally seems on the verge of completion. It has to be said that the project, largely driven by NVIDIA, is of great importance for the American company's brand image. It's all about showcasing RTX Remix technology, the aim of which is to enable everyone to integrate the latest techniques and the most sparkling graphic effects into games that are sometimes very old. NVIDIA puts it this way: " based on Omniverse, RTX Remix allows modders to easily save game assets, automatically enhance material rendering with powerful AI tools, and enable RTX with advanced ray tracing and DLSS 4 support ".
Half-Life 2 RTX will revisit Valve's legendary game, bringing with it, among other things, textures with 8 times more pixels and geometry 70 times more complex. After months of work, NVIDIA and Orbifold Studios are proud to announce that a playable demo ofHalf-Life 2 RTX is ready. It should be available to all Steam players tomorrow, Tuesday March 18, but don't get too excited: it's limited to a single level, the terrifying Ravenholm, and only allows two-hour sessions. What's more, we don't have any precise idea of the recommended system configuration to take full advantage of it: only a minimum configuration, based on a GeForce RTX 3060 all the same, has been published.
