No new GeForce RTX 50 series until January 21: RTX 5080 to open the show
It's no secret that NVIDIA will be launching its new GeForce graphics cards early in the new year.
Over the past year, we've been following rumours and other rumours about the Blackwell generation of new graphics cards from industry giant NVIDIA. The American company has repeatedly confirmed that its founder and current CEO - Jensen Huang - will be at the helm, at a keynote held at the opening of CES 2025 in Las Vegas. The keynote will take place at the end of the day, on January 6, and will cover a wide range of topics, from artificial intelligence to the new generation of graphics cards.
The main observers agreed that the January 6 announcement should concern a range of three to four cards, with the GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 certain to be announced and, perhaps a little more uncertain, the GeForce RT 5070 Ti and RTX 5070. It was also generally agreed that the announcement of these cards during the keynote did not in any way mean that they would be available immediately. On the contrary, several rumors suggested the possibility of a staggered release from mid-January to the end of March, with the GeForce RTX 5060 completing the range in addition to the models already specified.
