Polish studio CD Projekt RED is currently developing The Witcher IV: the game's release date remains a mystery for the time being.

When, in 2007, CD Projekt RED launched an adventure/action game based on the series of novels by local author Andrzej Sapkowski, the studio had no idea how successful the franchise would be. A success that didn't materialize immediately, however. In fact, it wasn't until the release of the third opus - The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, in 2015 - that the Polish studio found fame. This fame continued with the launch of two major expansions - Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine - but above all with the release of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020, which put CD Projekt RED in the very closed circle of the world's most important studios.

Since then, CD Projekt RED has been hard at work on its new project. A project that was announced several years ago, but only came to fruition after the release of Phantom Liberty, the expansion to Cyberpunk 2077. Since then, the Polish studio has deployed an impressive number of developers on The Witcher IV project: we're now talking about over 400 people to shape the adventures of Ciri, the new heroine following the retirement of Geralt de Riv, hero of the three previous opuses. Ciri is logically at the heart of the trailer presented at the Game Awards, on the night of December 12-13, and available above.

At just over six minutes long, the trailer clearly sets the mood for The Witcher, with just the right amount of grinning faces, horrific creatures and twists and turns. It's a mouth-watering trailer, with The Witcher IV 's release still a long way off, and it's also good business for NVIDIA. Indeed, at the very start of the video, CD Projekt RED's developers have posted a little message to tease gamers: " this trailer has been calculated on a yet-to-be-announced NVIDIA GeForce "! The new GeForce is due to be announced at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, early next year.
