Geekom adopts watercooling for its Mega Mini G1 mini-PC
A small case with a Core i9-13900H processor and a genuine GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card.
At Geekom, but also at most Chinese Mini-PC manufacturers, the format is generally the same for these little machines, which are all built around a roughly square base measuring between 11 and 15 centimetres on each side. Then, the thickness varies according to what you want to achieve: a machine with maximum compactness or a PC capable of carrying a 2.5-inch storage device, for example, between 3 and 5 cm. The problem is that such a space doesn't leave much room for the cooling system, and the latest processors from AMD or Intel can feel cramped.
With the Mega Mini G1, Geekom aims to offer something a little different, with a chassis that's obviously less compact, but still small enough for a more versatile solution. The case measures 25 x 25 x 15 cm, enabling Geekom to integrate a true watercooling system based on a good-sized (6,888 mm2) all-copper heatsink, combined with a pump rated for a maximum of 26 decibels, which must be capable of circulating coolant 8 times a minute throughout the system.
A small LCD screen is integrated into the upper part of the case to display various information, mainly related to the processor or graphics card. Indeed, Geekom is not content on this machine - or as on many mini-PCs - with the graphics solution integrated into the processor. No, to support the high-performance Intel Core i9-13900H, Geekom has opted for a dedicated graphics card, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060. A formidable duo for such a compact machine, complemented by 32 GB of DDR5-5200 and, depending on the version, 1 TB or 2 TB of SSD. Geekom has not yet given a release date for what remains a prototype, and will be presented at the IFA in Berlin from September 6 to 10. We can't wait to see more.
