Two of the three versions of the Steam Deck LCD are benefiting from a great promotion, before their definitive withdrawal from Valve's catalog.
A huge success with PC gamers - and others - the Steam Deck was launched by Valve in February 2022, when the company was still reeling from the failure of the Steam Machines. Not content with selling like hotcakes, the Steam Deck has enabled the emergence of a new market, that of portable console/PC hybrid machines. On the PC side, the result is a true computer capable of running a whole host of applications, with keyboard/keyboard support and on-screen video output. On the console side, it's all about simplicity of use and game controls directly integrated into a machine that comes close to the Nintendo 3DS and Sony PS Vita... only bigger and more powerful.
At the time of its release, the Steam Deck was available in three versions, with the main distinction being the storage component (64 GB eMMC, 256 GB SSD or 512 GB SSD). Although there's no mention of Steam Deck 2, Valve decided to upgrade its offering a few months ago with the launch of the Steam Deck OLED, which not only significantly improved the screen, but also ironed out a few minor technical issues by increasing battery capacity, for example. This release also precipitated the abandonment of the 64GB eMMC and 512GB SSD versions, which are now available - in a sort of honorary barroud - thanks toa summer promotion running until July 11.

Valve doesn't hold us to ransom, stating that " the 64GB and 512GB Steam Deck LCD models will soon be discontinued and will be available while supplies last ". If OLED isn't your thing, then this is one of the last opportunities to get your hands on one of the two versions, although the Steam Deck LCD with 256GB SSD doesn't look like disappearing any time soon. What's more, this promotion is all the more interesting in that it still offers a 15% saving on the price of the machine: the Steam Deck LCD 64GB eMMC is priced at 313.65 euros, while the variant with 512GB SSD is priced at 398.65 euros. With prices like these, it's going to be hard to resist, isn't it?
